Welcome to the Scottish Schizophrenia Outcomes Study (SSOS) Homepage.

This national study aims to monitor the outcomes of care for service users with schizophrenia. The study is funded by NHS Quality Improvement Scotland (formerly CRAG) and builds on the work carried out by the CSO Scottish 700 study which involved Mental Health Service Users from 4 Primary Care Trusts in Scotland.

SSOS aims to consider responses from Service Users throughout Scotland. This will be one of the largest studies of its kind undertaken in Scotland and will build up a comprehensive picture of how both Keyworkers and Service Users are responding to the implementation of National Clinical Standards.  Liaising with Primary Care Trusts, Health Boards and Voluntary organisations, the SSOS will use the AVON Mental Health Measure alongside other measures, to build up this picture. The Robertson Institute for Biostatistics at Glasgow University is providing support with data management and analysis. This is a challenging study, which has attracted widespread support from Primary Care NHS Trusts and voluntary organisations across Scotland.

For further information on the study, please contact either of the study implementation team.
